Education

Graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, and a minor in psychology. Maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout my four years. Dean's List, Earned 5 scholarships from Auburn University. I was a sports reporter for the college paper, became a media assistant for Auburn football and later the Sports Information Director for Auburn Gymnastics. Graduated from Stanton College Preparatory high school where I completed 13 AP classes in science, psychology, economics and literature. I was the sports editor of my school's paper.

Experience

I was accepted as an instructor to the 2015 Teach For America Corps, a prestigious non-profit focused on bettering education across the U.S. in low-income and education inequality affected areas. I am experienced in tutoring students of all ages, including adults who may need interview/resume experience and assistance. I enjoy the challenge of making difficult classes become understandable and enjoyable for students. Developing a specific teaching method for each individual student's needs is the most effective form of education. I have completed 13 AP classes in high school, taken experienced psychology classes and vigorous writing and editing in college.

Hobbies

I currently work for the PGA of America and am heavily involved in the golf industry in the D.C. area. Along with being the communications director for the area, I run a youth golf tournament series for children ages 6-10. I come from a family of teachers and have always had a love for education. This led to me becoming a teaching recruiter for Teach For America while I attended Auburn. I helped recruit the most TFA educators in its history at Auburn. I have many personal experiences dealing with difficult classes, creating study plans and building a plan to succeed in school. I hope to use my experience to make learning easier and fun for other students.
