Experience

I attended the College of William and Mary and George Washington University. I have had a long-standing passion for teaching and have spent the last five years as an English teacher. English is my favorite subject. I love everything about it, and when I can help a student become a better English student and develop a love for the subject, it is a tremendous feeling. I have a set of tools and techniques that I use so that a student can write better essays, read literature more effectively, and better communicate how they think. Seeing a student achieve a goal is a continual reminder of why I love what I do. I know what it's like to face a subject that seems daunting. There can be despair and discouragement. But when you work with someone who is patient and has the experience and tools, you realize that you truly can learn the concepts. I live in Arlington, Virginia. I like dogs (I have two), going for hikes, hitting the gym, riding bikes, and reading. I am also learning to cook.
