Nelson Mandela said that education is the most powerful weapon we have to change the world, and believing that is the main reason I decided to be a teacher. I attended Johns Hopkins University where I acquired my bachelor's degree in Spanish and International Studies, and my master's in Education. At the present time, I am a Spanish teacher at a high school in Baltimore City. I have nearly seven years of teaching/tutoring experience with elementary and high school students. I really enjoy tutoring students no matter what their age. I am available to teach a number of different courses, including ESL/ELL, Reading, Writing, Literature, American History, Social Studies, AP United States History, and Spanish, among others. I can also help with test preparation for the SAT Verbal, SAT and PSAT Critical Reading, SAT Writing, PSAT Writing Skills, and many others. I find it rewarding to help students attain their goals and be successful in their studies. If you are willing to do the work, I believe you can succeed. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, listening to music, reading, and advocating for better public education in Baltimore. I am looking forward to working with you.
