Private tutor in Arlington, VA
Seton Hall University - BS, International Relations , St Andrews University - PhD, International Relations
I have degrees from Seton Hall University and St. Andrews University. My PhD is in social sciences. My tutoring experience includes establishing a peer tutoring society at a public high school, coaching students in public speaking, as well as working with undergraduate students. Because of my experience as an educator (and previously, a student), I know what it takes to work successfully through college, and I can share that with my students. I believe that reading and writing skills are the basis for mastering any subject, in addition to developing critical thinking skills. My approach to tutoring is to identify weaknesses and capitalize on strengths. I do this by helping you to develop strategies, habits and best practices to ensure that you will succeed in whatever subject you are working in. I firmly believe that everyone has the ability to succeed. The areas I am available to tutor are English, social studies, SAT (all areas), PSAT (all areas) college prep, college admissions, writing, public speaking, and debate training. My background includes being Editor in Chief of various magazines and law reviews. Outside of academics, I enjoy traveling, cooking, wine, and art of all kinds.
