Experience
I graduated from Oglethorpe University with a bachelor's in English Literature and History minor, and followed that with a master's in Teaching, concentrating on early childhood and elementary education from Pacific University in Oregon. I currently teach critical and creative thinking to students from kindergarten to sixth grade. I have many years of experience tutoring a wide range of students from elementary to graduate level, including subjects such as World History, Earth Science, and Writing. I am especially passionate about history and very adept at tutoring that subject and the connection of past events to our lives today. I adapt my teaching of subject matter to meet the learning styles of students and my goal is to continue my studies and become a professor of education, influencing our future educators. I strive to instill confidence in my students and ensure they know I respect their abilities and efforts, but I also encourage a strong work ethic and push them to employ that to reach their full potential. My hobbies and interests include reading and being active in and watching sports like football, baseball, basketball, and golf. I also enjoy running and cooking.
