My professional background is disparate and ranges from working with elementary-aged students from as young as the third-grade all the way up to college-level students. Regardless of the age level, I believe in customizing my approach toward teaching by planning lessons that closely align to my students' learning styles. My goal is not to speak at my students with a lecture; to the contrary, I want to engage them in the process of learning.I attended the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and currently am based in Arlington, Virginia. My professional background includes a role as an eighth-grade science teacher. Additionally, I have taught health classes and biology labs at a community college. The specific subject areas I specialize in as an educator are elementary-level math, middle school math, biology, anatomy, advanced placement biology, and biochemistry.I truly enjoy the process of learning and am dedicated to working with my students by helping them understand and master the material in their midst. I believe this is an important part of the process in setting and attaining goals.Beyond teaching and learning, my interests include medicine, public health, reading, tennis, and music.
