Private tutor in Arlington, VA
Washington University in St. Louis - BS, Anthropology/PreMed
My tutoring career began in high school, where I tutored other students in math and science. After graduating high school, I went to Peru and taught English for half the year. I returned to the US and began classes at Washington University. My sophomore year, I was a teaching assistant with the Spanish department, where I taught two Spanish 102 classes each week, and was responsible for lesson plans, quizzes, and grading papers. Besides classroom teaching, I also tutored Spanish to students through a campus educational program. I've spent the past two summers working at a very intensive internship in Miami, Florida, making lesson plans, creating quizzes, and teaching science to elementary school students. I love teaching and tutoring children, and finding ways to help them positively connect with the subject and conquer their learning challenges. I know a variety of techniques and styles to use when working with students, and I feel satisfaction when my students meet their educational goals. I'm qualified to tutor math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, biology, chemistry, science, French, and Spanish. I'm experienced in assisting students with test preparations for the ACT and SAT, too. Outside the classroom, my interests are photography, dancing, and skiing. I look forward to working with your student.
