Standardized testing can seem like a daunting task to most students applying to high school, college, or graduate school. My goal is to help reduce the apprehension and anxiety that can be associated with these exams and to help students become confident in their testing abilities. I aim to provide a supportive, productive (and perhaps even fun!) environment where students will learn the strategies and skills necessary to succeed. I have been tutoring for over 12 years and have worked for many of the tutoring companies in the the DC and Northern Virginia area. I have scored in the 99th percentile for all exams that I tutor and I am familiar with the tricks and traps that each test can present. During my career, I have helped students to achieve scores and write essays that assist them in gaining admittance to their dream schools (including several students who are currently at Harvard, Princeton and Yale). I also have extensive experience working with clients who have learning differences and have developed sets of strategies that are particularly helpful for this group.

I realize that students often have very demanding schedules and limited amounts time, and I am a huge proponent of "quality over quantity" and engaging a student rather than simply assigning tasks. I work well with students who have a competitive spirit (athletes make great testers!), but also enjoy working with those who posses a more reserved and introspective personality.
