Experience
Since founding an afterschool math tutoring club in high school, I have always had a passion for teaching. My own educational experience was made exceptionally rewarding by personal attention from teachers and clear, patient explanations. It is with this example in mind that I have developed and refined my tutoring style over several years of regular practice. Examples of my work over the years include: ** Private tutor for 4th grade critical reading and standardized test prep in Houston, Spring 2011 semester. ** Volunteer math tutor (3rd, 6th and high school levels) for the non-profit Building New Hope, Granada, Nicaragua, Summer 2010. ** Peer Writing Consultant for Rice University Communications class, 2009-10. ** Lead Tutor for America Reads at Wharton Elementary (Houston, TX), 2008-2010. Primary subjects: 6th-8th grade algebra and reading. ** Private tutor for algebra, geometry and pre-calculus, September 2012- May 2013. ** SAT General score: 2220. ** ACT score: 34. ** GRE score: 165 (Verbal), 160 (Quantitative) ** AP Test Scores: English Language (5), English Literature (5), US History (5), American Government (5), Calculus AB (4)

Hobbies
I play the guitar and piano, and love listening to nearly all varieties of music. I also enjoy learning and practicing foreign languages (Arabic and Spanish), as well as playing recreational sports and occasionally videogames. A humorous, approachable and fairly laid-back guy, I have always been able to forge positive and productive relationships with the many children and young adults that I've had the pleasure of working with.
